different versions of windows

Can you network computers with windows 98 to a new computer
that has windows XP home edition? Need to know befor buying

Yes. All versions of Windows can network with each other. Windows XP
has a Network Setup Wizard that you can use to configure Windows 98,
Me, and XP computers for networking.

Yes.
