Yes, in fact, a switch would be better for your network. A hub creates a
single data channel (usually 10mbps) and all computers must share that one
channel. A switch creates multiple data channels (usually 100mbps), one for
each device. There are other differences, like the fact that a switch sends
data directly from the source to the destination - as opposed to a hub which
sends the data to all devices whether they were supposed to see it or not.
