What is difference between "Sharing tab" and "Security tab" ?

In the folder’s property, what is the difference and purpose between the
“Sharing permission� in the Sharing tab and “Group and user� in the Security
tab?

Share permissions apply only to users who access the folder over the
network. Security (NTFS) permissions apply both to network access and
locally logged on users.

With regards to permissions, it is actually a huge section of the 70-290
(server 2003) exam. You need to ensure that you have set the Shear and NTFS
permissions correctly otherwise you will have big problems with regards to
user and group permissions. If you are working on servers or just learning,
I would have a big look into it
