Dialup Problem

Hi,
I have the following dialup problem.
I have a Mandrake 9.1 machine sitting on a Novell LAN. I would like to
be able to dial into this machine. I have used Webmin to set up mgetty
and can dial in successfully. From my home I can telnet to the Linux
machine and Ping the Linux machine but cannot ping any other machine
on the Lan. The Linux machine gets its IP address from the Novell DHCP
server. The IP address allocatted to the remote machine is not in use
by another machine.
I am sure that there is a basic answer to this but I am a bit of a
newbe and can't seem to work it out. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Is it allowing IP Forwarding?

Beside needing to have ip_forward enabled on the server, you need to make
sure that the server does not use any 'defaultroute' options for the
dialin ppp connection. If the remote IP is on the same network, the server
should also probably use its ethernet IP as local IP for ppp and
'proxyarp' option, but that might be problematic if its ethernet IP is
dynamic. If running a firewall (whether you know it or not) that may need
to be properly configured for the dialin.

The remote dialin client should use defaultroute pppd option for pppd
(unless it is only to connect to your local network and has a proper
network route). If its IP is in the same network as your LAN it should be
outside of DHCP assigned range.

Yes I have enabled IP forwarding (sorry I should have mentioned that).
I will have a go at the rest, not that I understand it all, so it will
mean some reading.

Thanks
