dialogue box disappears when trying to authenticate on a remote network

Can't access OWA. When the password is entered, the login
window disappears and a connection is never made.

user on a home Windows 98 PC, trying to dial up and
connect to the company's Outlook Web Access. There is
nothing wrong with the user's passwords to the domain or
network. The company's using Outlook 2000 on a Novell 6
network, should that make any difference.
