Dialing into a ME machine

I have set up a winME machine as a dial up server. The problem I have is that
when I try and dial into it with win2000 it keeps asking for username and
passwords I have set up a username on the ME machine and I use that username
and password in my 2000 dialup connection but to no avail. Anyone with any
suggestions?

Win ME doesn't support full NTLM authentication, which is used by Win2k.
Try to switch it off on Win2k. You must also provide the domain name of
the WinME machine, if it isn't the same as on Win2k, otherwise you have
to enter a string like this:

DOMAIN\USER, e.g.:

WinME in workgroup DIALER, User is Gast
Win2k in workgroup LAMER

on 2k you enter

DIALER\Gast

as username.
