How does a Teleworker dial in to a remote VPN network, do they have to
dial an ISP or can the remote device dialup the VPN network directly.

using your existing internet connection, the teleworker would use a
VPN client on the local computer to connect to the remote firewall/VPN
server - any traffic destined for the remote network would be routed
via the VPN and other traffic via the normal internet connection.

As long as you untick "Use default gateway on remote network" in the TCP/IP
properties.
James.

Sorry, I may not have worded question correctly, I have connected to
VPN successfully but was wondering if there was an option to actually
dial in using a conventional phone line.

The Windows help files are quite clear on what to do to achieve this - when
you find the correct bit :-)

Connect to your ISP using a dial up connection then connect to the remote
network using VPN. You will need to create two "Dial-up Networkiing
Connection" short cuts for these two processes.

Wasn't sure if the dialup connection could be made directly to the VPN
server as I know this can be done with a conventional modem.

Thanks for info.
