I am running a small office in nigeria with five computers connected
through a server to a dial-up connection to the internet. The
connection, from what we were given by the company, comes with a
telephone line, the telephone equipment itself serving as the modem. We
have a problem right now. the speed given on the connection is 250
kbps. i don't know if am missing anything that would make you help me,
but my workers are unable to interact with clients online, my support
people, because the connection does not go through? i am thinking:
should i change provider? i believe they all give close to the same
speed.
Can i increase the speed somehow?
What should i do so that we can still connect to the net reasonably.

nigeria eh?
(not the flavour of the month of late)
First, what can your modem offer you?
After establishing that, what can your isp offer?
If, as you say, the providers all offer about the same,
then you are in need of a hardware upgrade. (modem,
broadband, & etc).
Your isp will be the one to talk to regarding this, especially
as you are running a 'business'.
