DI-614+ and Wired network

I have a combination of wired and wireless. Until recently all the
wired network cards connected to the wired netgear rt314 and it
connects to DSL. I have one computer with a wireless card to the
di-614+. All connected to the internet at 1.8mbs or better. I have
moved some of the equipment and now I have a wired NIC connected to
the di-614+ as well as the wireless. Ever since I hooked the NIC to
the 614+ the internet speed has dropped to 76k. If I bypass the 614+
and connect directly to the netgear I get 1.8mb again. I have changed
the MTU on the 614+ without any improvement. Any ideas why the
connection speed would drop if I connect to the internet through the
614+ which is connected the rt314. The access to the general network
is also slow. The rt314 is set for DHCP and DCHP is off on the 614+.
