DhcpServer registry key

I have been struggling with how to get a client to always
get its IP address from a particular DHCP from the very
first time and whilst it is renewing and releasing.

Whilst I haven't been in a position to experiment, I have
noticed that there is a registry key called DhcpServer.

Now if this (DhcpServer reg key) were to be populated with
the DHCP server's IP address prior to the computer getting
it's first IP address would the client get it from the
DHCP server specified in the reg key.

Or would this reg key value only be used by the client
when getting subsequent renewals?
