I have dhcp setup on a win2003 server. Although it running correctly, the
domain controller is sending out a request for an ip address from the range
although I assigned it a static ipaddress. As a matter of fact, the domain
controller is sending out multiple requests. To that end, there are no
available ip address for the clients.

Any ideas on why this is happening?

Do you have RRAS installed on your DC? This will cause the DC to try to
obtain 10 leases at a time to accommodate RAS connections.

Dusty,

Thanks for your help! That was the problem. I added more ip address to the
pool and the DC reserves 10 ip addresses for RAS.

Again thanks!
