DHCP service without active directory ?

I am assuming this is an NT Server? MS DHCP is only for NT servers as far as
I know.

2000/2003 you need to authorize the dhcp server in AD
as far as i know, there isn't any way to get around that

Create a new value in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\DHCPServer\Parameters

Name: DisableRogueDetection
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 0x1

After that your DHCP Server service will no longer ask for authorization to
start.
