Hi,

Is there any way to run DHCP server on a standalone server without
installing active directory?

Thanks,
ED

yes, via Control Panel | Add/Remove programs | Add/Remove Windows Components
| Networking Services | check: DHCP to install.

Cheers,
Yuri

Hi,

I had already installed the DHCP server, but it will not go online.

It is telling me that I need to authorize the DHCP Server in Active
Directory before it can assign IP address.

Problem is that I am not using Active Directory, just local users and
groups.

Anyway to bypass this authorization?

Meinolf, I did not mean to multipost, but I found this newsgroup only
afterwards and figured I'd get a better response here. I will stick to this
newsgroup for this problem.

Thanks,

ED

Hello ed,

On the LAN where are you working, is there anywhere a domain controller located?
Even if it is not your own? This message will only occur if the server recognized
an AD. Or was the server located in a domain before?
