I have just installed a DHCP server but it keeps falling over every few days
with the following error:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: DhcpServer
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1008
Date: 23/05/06
Time: 17:25:48
User: N/A
Computer: DC1
Description:
The DHCP service is shutting down due to the following error:
Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Data:
0000: 0e 00 00 00

I have searched technet but found nothing relevant.

Supposing that there is enough space on the volume hosting the DHCP
database, is it possible that sometimes that volume gets filled up for some
time and, after that, freed again? Is there any other error in the Event
Viewer related to DHCP?

Since you say that this happens every few days, the database shouldn't be
corrupted (otherwise DHCP wouldn't start again) but if you think this could
be the cause, you can read the following kb article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/173396/en-us

Regards,

Carlo

I've only found one kb article talking about 1056 error
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282001/en-us) but it looks useless in your
case. As last resource I'd try to investigate the possibility of database
corruption.

Hope someone else can give you better suggestions, actually I can't imagine
how to help you anymore.

Regards,

Carlo
