dhcp server daemon problems

Hi at all
I've got a problem with dhcp server daemon. On my computer with Suse 9.1 the
dhcp server works fine, but it isn't running at the boot time, and I must
go to run it.
The initialization script is located in /etc/init.d/rc3.d (Sxxdhcpd e
Kxxdhcpd), and DHCPD_RUN_CHROOTED in /etc/sysconfig/dhcpd is set to "yes".
The files "/etc/localtime", "/etc/host.conf", "/etc/hosts" and
"/etc/resolv.conf" have been copied in /var/lib/dhcp/etc/ when starting the
init script. I have executed all the instructions that I have found in
"www.isc.org" ("A mini DHCP how-to" and "A macro howto") and "SUSE LINUX –
Administration Guide". In fact, at the boot time I can read this message:
"Starting DHCP server [chroot] done". But when I enter in the system, like
user or root, the dhcp server daemon (dhcpd) does not exist and I must
activate it.
Someone can help me?

Daniele

Probably the daemon stopped on its own, maybe because it was having
trouble reading its config file(s). I don't know dhcpd, but there's
almost certainly some syslog output telling what the problem was. Have
a look in /var/log/(syslog|daemon.log|dhcpd.*).
