DHCP Scope based on MAC Vendor ID?

Is it possible to setup a dhcp scope in Windows Server 2003 that will
hand out addresses based on the Vendor ID portion of a MAC address?

Back Story - New client wants his IP based phones to be given address
from a different scope then his pc's. (When I implement his new 2003 AD
domain) He currently does it with some flavor of BIND using (what he
called) CLASS ID.

Yes, it can with Class Options.

Instead of the website you're using, I suggest to use OEx (Outlook Express
or any other newsreader), and configure a news account, pointing to
news.microsoft.com. This is a direct link to the Microsoft Public
Newsgroups. It is FREE and requires NO ISP's Usenet account. OEx allows you
to easily find, track threads, cross-post, sort by date, poster's name,

We are having a simillar issue. We want to assign a specific dhcp scope to
our Polycom and SNOM VoIP phones. We have used a packet sniffer and have
determined that these phones do not send out a vendor id. We were told that
the first 6 of the MAC address is vendor specific and want to know if
Microsoft DHCP has the ability to use wildcards to assign a scope based on
the first 6 of the MAC Address? Or if anyone knows a different method it
would be a great help.

Sorry, not that I am aware of. Did you consult the docs?

I consulted the Docs and there is no clear way to define the vendor class.
