DHCP Reservation

Hi All
Can any one tell me or point me in the direction of information to give me a
better understanding of ip address reservations within dhcp scopes?

Situation is network guys have assigned an ip reservation in DHCP scope
against the MAC address of a pc which apparently has a lease for 7 days.
They will not give me a static address so my concern is if the wireless link
goes down a day before the lease renewal what will happen if the link is
failed for 10 days.
The reason for my concern is this pc communicates with camera kit which do
have static details in same subnet.
