DHCP Request packet sent over and over

I see a problem in the firewall logs where one or two (usually just one)
of the wireless clients sends a DHCP Request packet continually. The
firewall (DHCP server) obligingly replies with an IP address, but the
client appears to ignore it, and sends the request again. Should I put
this down to a troublesome wireless connection (many other networks
detected)or could there be some other cause?

Try re-entering your WEP or WPA network key on the client.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've tried that. It does connect from
time to time.

hello,

did you try with a static ip or with a reservation ?
Do you have the latest driver ?
Does the dhcp server blacklist this mac address ?

I tried updating the driver last night, and the thing blue-screened on
me - not encouraging. The DHCP server (firewall) certainly isn't
blacklisting the mac address, but a reservation is an interesting idea
which I hadn't thought of in this context. I'll give that a go -
thanks. Even if that works, it doesn't explain the behaviour. Another
PC is doing the same thing from time to time.

Networks - I hate 'em...
