The process of obtaining an IP address from a DHCP server is initiated by
way of a broadcast discover packet from the client. Such broadcast packets
cannot cross routers. You could configure a relay agent specifically for
the purpose of intercepting discover packets and directing them to a server
on a remote subnet. But, the default behavior is that the remote office
DHCP clients can only get addresses from a local DHCP server.
