Hi

I noticed that after a restart of our DHCP server the following error
appeared:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Event Type: Error
Event Source: DhcpServer
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1065
Date: 2008-06-22
Time: 03:08:23
User: N/A
Computer: MYDHCPSERVER
Description:
There were some orphaned entries deleted in the configuration due to the
deletion of a class or an option definition. Please recheck the server
configuration.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, what happened:

* 4 Scopes lost their "Start IP address" and "End IP address"
* ? Scopes lost some of their reservations (Not all reservations though)
* 2 Scopes lost their Scope Options (Not the Server Options though)

Can someone explain why this happen? How can I prevent this types of errors?
Can I restore the orphaned objects? Why were they orphaned in the first place?

Thanks...
Sporren

Hi Meinolf

Thanks for your response.

I've seen that before but it does'nt help me much. I've tried to Reconclie
but it says the database is consistent (which is good by the way). Haven't
seen much information about this error code besides the link you recommended.

I still wonder what makes a record Orphaned in DHCP? Is there a setting in
DHCP?
