DHCP Multiple Gateways?

So what happens when you configure your DHCP server to give out 2 gateways?

Does the client simply failover, to the second gateway, when the first
fails?

If the first (lowest metric) gateway fails because it is dead or
unreachable, then the client will switch to the next lowest metric gateway.
However, it will not switch back automatically if the original gateway comes
back online.
