Adv to short leases: when using imaging software or lots of temporary
computers, this will release addresses quickly especially if you have only a
few addresses available, changes to DHCP scopes don't take as long to be
applied throughout the enterprise (for instance updating a DNS server entry
in a scope)
Disadv to short leases: increased network broadcast traffic due to DHCP
leasing, in Active Directory environment can equate to more dynamic DNS
updates depending on how/if dynamic DNS is configured, if your server suffers
an outage than your clients have less available time to run on the IP address
that they have been assigned
