DHCP keeps renewing leases in wrong time frame

I have DHCP running on 2003 domain and clients keep renewing leases in short
intervals 30 secs to 20 minutes, even though the the lease is not set to
expire for 50 days. Ipconfig indicates that the lease runs for 50 day span
but still renews. DHCP log indicates renewals. when computers restart lease
renews also.
DHCP databse was imported from 2000 domain using MS recommended procedure.
