DHCP Issue: Multiple IP's for ONE MAC address

I am trying to reserve Multiple IP's for one of our servers.

Each NIC Needs 2 IP's because of the software they run on it.

I can make a reservation for 1 address but when I add a second one
with the same MAC it tells me "The specific IP address or harware
address is being used by another client "

Any Ideas?

I don't want to start removing IP's from the scope if possible. I
just want to put reservations.

Standard operating procedure is to document your ip plan. Most assign a
block of ips as static and assign them to servers, print servers, switches,
routers, etc. Then you exclude that block of ip from your dhcp scope.

This doesn't help you address your issue but it does tell you why you have it.

My thought would be to turn conflict detection on and then manually
assign your IP's. Or, go ahead and make reservations with a garbage
mac address and manually assign your IPS.

Just out of curiosity, what software demands this? Sounds like a huge PITA.
However, since you say it's for "one of our servers" why would you use DHCP
to assign IP addresses to a server at all?

We can have only one Dynamic Address(DHCP Assigned) per NIC.
Thats the reason why the DHCP server is not allowing you to create a new
reservation for the same MAC address.

You can have multiple Static Addresses for the NIC though.

Hope this solves the confusion.
