Hi,

I'm having a big troble with my DHCP server. on W2k3 server

It stoped working.
I tryed jetpack the database, remove and reinstall the DHCP server
among other possible solutions.

The last I did was to uninstall DHCP,
delete the %WINDOWS%\system32\dhcp folder
delete %WINDOWS%\system32\dhcp*.* files
Entered regedit and delete a the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT -> CLSID ->
AA9BBsomething

Then I restarted my server and tryed to reinstall it and i got a error
message (my own translation from portuguese) : An error stoped the
installing or removal of the dynamic host configuration protocol(DHCP).

The error was "There is no support for this interface".

I know the problem is not my nick card or my network cables and etc.
because if I mannualy configure a client on the network it goes on
fine.

I really need help on this one. Please advise me on a workaround. I
know I should not have delete the files and this one regitry entry but
I had no idea on waht to do.

Now I've tryed to remove the active directory from this server but it
did not help.
I'll try to remove all the system updates and then re-installing them.

Can anyone please help me?

Miguel Salles

P.S. I tryd this solution in the last attempt. Thats what made it
impossible to reinstall DHCP.
I have missed only on thing about it. To delete this value of the
registry
"{524CCE97-A886-11D0-AB86-00C04FC3357A} DHCP"

"If the issue persists, you can refer to the following steps to
manually
reinstall DHCP services to try to resolve the issue:

1. Check your hard disk by chkdsk c: /r /f command.
2. Uninstall the DHCP services from Add/Remove programs.
3. Find the following file and delete them:
dhcpsnap.dll
dhcpmib.dll
dhcpmgmt.msc
dhcpssvc.dll
binlsvc.dll
dhcpctrs.ini
dhcpctrs.h
dhcpssvc.dll
4. Delete %SystemRoot%\System32\dhcp folder.
5. Go to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Server Applications

and
delete the following value:
"{524CCE97-A886-11D0-AB86-00C04FC3357A} DHCP"
6. Search for {aa9bb1e0-9fe2-11d0-b257-00c04fc9e292} key in
registry and
delete the key.
7. Restart computer and install DHCP components and check if
problem is
resolved. "
