Hi!;

My organization has approximate 250 unit’s server+workstation. As we know
for those networks subnet mask class C only can support network up to 254
units’ workstations. My organization will expand rapidly. So I worry one day
the my current Win 2000 server built in DHCP server can not cope to assign ip
address to client site workstation and caused them can not use the network
service in the organization. So any methods that allow me to configure DHCP
server to become can support workstation more than 254 units. If can not, can
I add in one more DHCP server in my organization and allow 2 diffrent group
workstation in these servers can communicate each and other? If yes what
configuration should need to do? Any one can advice me

Thanks & Regards

Kysiow,

Don't worry Windows can hande more than 254 DHCP clients on a single
server. In you DHCP server configuration you can add additional subnets
class C or other supernets to support your clients. You will need to insure
that your network devices are configured properly to support forwarding DHCP
requests to a DHCP server on remote network if you can't or choose not to
supernet to a /23.

Hi! James;

I understand, we can add on one more network scope on DHCP server. However
how to configure 2 different scope network group device to communicate each
and other. For instance, I configure 2 group of network scope, fist scope is
192.168.7.xxx and second scope is 192.168.8.xxx. So how to configure 2
different group network devices communicate each and other. So can you show
me some more details in this issue?

Thanks & Regards
