DHCP / DNS and Domains...

I am looking for a logical solution from someone whom might have done this
in the past or currently doing so now.

Scenario: I have a network with a domain and clients whom acquire their IP
addresses from DHCP. There approximately forty workstation in the network
that all get their IP addresses from the DHCP Server, along with about 20
printers, 4 access points and other devices that all get their IP from DHCP.
Some devices IP's aren't leases but have been given a reservation due to the
nature of that device; such as printers, servers, and LAN based storage
systems.

What I have been asked to do is to make a new domain (no trust relation)
with someone whom will be sharing our office and thus our network.

I had already suggested that we put them on their own wire and perhaps even
bridge the networks if they needed to access any of our resources or we
theirs.

I have been giving the big "NO" they want them all in the same class.

So can someone help me out here with some info as to how I should go about
doing this?

My IP Address schema is now like: 10.0.0.0/24 (with a domain and the domain
controller is acting as a DHCP/DNS server for the network.

I am not sure the issue. Do you want both domains in the same subnet? I don't see any problem with that.

I take it that the issue is that DHCP clients in the new forest/domain will
receive the wrong DNS server IP under the existing scope options. I don't
know how many machines will be in the new domain, but I would recommend that
you avoid the issue by statically confguring them and excluding their IPs
from the existing scope. As an alternative, you could implement class
options to give the new domain members the IP of their DC for DNS. See:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;240247

Depending on how your DHCP server is configured you might have issues
resulting from a DHCP server in one forest owning host or PTR records on the
DNS server in a different forest. See:
