DHCP ( Can it be used with other medium than ethernet ?)

I am using the DHCP 2.0 ( Redhat 7.3 )
If the medium between server and client is hdlc ( it is broadcast )
what do we use as chaddr in the dhcp messages ?

Has anybody tried it ?
