Hi there,

I am currently running a network of 2 windows 2000 servers (office and
Production). The office server authorizes approximately 50 windows xp
professional clients. All clients are currently static set IP addresses. I
wish to convert the network to DHCP but require about 20 static IP
addresses.

Can someone please verify the following -

1) i install and configure the DHCP server
2) I set the scope for the DHCP server allowing for the 20 static IP
addresses
3) I start the DHCP server
4) I go to the 50 XP clients and change them from static to obtain IP
address (leaving the clients that require static ip address)
5) Everything should work as per normal after the restarts

I am not sure of what else i need to do, any advice would be greatly
appreciated

Thanks in advance

Markh

Just make sure to use the full IP range when creating trhe scope. Use
exclusions to control what addresses are given out and which aren't.
