DHCP and Internet Access

Hello,
I have a Windows 2k Server running DHCP. It serves out IP addresses to
both 2k clients and NT 4 clients. For some reason, whenever my NT clients
reboot thier machines, the lose their internet access until the run ipconfig
/renew. There lease doesn't expire, and they are still able to access our
network, but they just lose their internet access. My window 2k and window
NT clients do not have this problem. In order for my clients to run the
renew command they have to have rights that I do not want them to have. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

FYI...... The DHCP Server is serving out the IP address and the DNS address.
The gateway is entered on all 'Internet Access Machines' as I set them up.

Why are you trying to statically assign the default gateway to DHCP clients?
You should enter the proper default gateway in the DHCP scope and let DHCP
assign it along with the IP address and DNS server address.

I do not want everybody to have the gateway on their machines. If I give
them the gateway, they will have internet access.

Then you should use DHCP reservations for the clients that you would like to
have the default gateway. Add the default gateway to these clients
reservations and leave the default gateway blank on the regular DHCP scope
options.
