Just installed a DG834 in place of a DG814.

Has anyone found any problems I need to look out for?

As the DG834 is BRAND new and you are the first to report having been able
to buy it (it's been vapourware for months) you won't find too many others
with it yet! As it looks to essentially be an upgrade to the DG824 it should
be OK.

The DG834 is the replacement for DG814... its the DG834G that us the
replacement for the 824.

For the original poster:
http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/postlist...oard=dslrouter has a few
users of the the DG834.

Regards
Sunil

Thanks.

I will post here anything I find while using it. My hope is that it
will recover better than the DG814 when connection is lost.

It seems ok apart from a few niggles

1: when you go to the admin page it seems to ask me for the
username/password about 5 time, very annoying, and then again when i switch
pages

2: when using xp don't have the UPnP option checked in the dg834 setup, it
seems to have xp create an "internet gateway" connection type in network and
dialup connections.

3: also when you set the ntp server to sync time with, a reboot seems to
confuse it, ie; it takes a while to resync causing log messages to have
incorrect times

I used to have that problem with a DG814. I think it was related to
personal firewall settings. Make sure the IP address of the router has
been allowed full access.

How do you do this? I just checked my settings on Netgear Gateway but did
not find anything.
