DFS UNC path tweaking

With some excellent guidance from a member of this forum I have implemented
DFS on Server 2003 R2 for server consolidation purposes.

I have what I hope is a configuration tweak. When I create a DFS link and
point it to a share the effective UNC path to files is
\\OldServer\Sharename\DFSLinkName\file.txt

What I need is \\OldServer\Sharename\file.txt

Can this be done?

Not sure, I'm getting this...

- You have a file.txt on \\oldServer\ShareName\
- When you link this share to your DFS root the UNC to access the file will
be: \\DFSroot\LinkToShareName\file.txt
