Hello.

We have 2 DC(win2Ksp4). I have install the DFS on the First DC to replicate
the USERFILES to second DC.

But i cant "see" any replicationa after 1 Day.
i have no errors in logs.

My questions are:

Must i, DFS also setup on the secondary DC with the same dfs-link as in
primary DC to work the replication?

Is possible to "see" as admin, which is the Current used USERFILES(from 1DC
or from 2DC), if my replication works finally??

Thanks.

DFS doesn't confer replication. It is a way of creating a namespace. To do
replication you need to create a DFS link, with targets on both servers then
configure replication. Virtually no one uses FRS replication with DFS in
W2K because it is fraught with dangers and can tie up the network of your
servers. Windows Server 2003 R2 has a decent replication engine which can
replicate file regardless of DFS.

You need to provide more info on what you have configured, like documenting
all the steps you took to set up the DFS replicas

Cheers,
Jeremy.

Hello Jeremy.

I have finally setup the dfs for replication and its work.

I have add a dfs-link in the 2DC to the same link as in the dfs
configuration in the 1DC,otherwise the replikation wont start.

My question was if i need to setup the dfs with dfs-links in the second DC,
i know yet.

Many users told me, the dfs is exellent for replikation so i had setup
that.

What is the danger??

by the way :We have a small Network 15 user(LAN) the replication data are
3GB all and every day add maybe 30 MB not more.

Can i tell me anything to the following questions:

1. How can i restrict if a user Deletes all Files in the primary than this
files are delete also in the Replicas??

2. How can i see as admin, what current are used(Primary or replicas
files)??

Thanks.
