Yes, you can add a wireless card and keep the existing one. Windows
98 will use one or the other, but not both at once, for network
access.

If your network has a DHCP server, renew the IP address lease on the
card that you want to use, and release the IP address lease on the
card that you don't want to use. You can change the roles at any
time.

If the IP addresses are static, use the "metric" value for each card
to determine which one Windows 98 will use. Assign a lower metric to
that card, and a higher metric to the other one. Again, you can
change the roles at any time.

thanks for this info. I tried to add a wireless card and
it was driving me mad why it would appear in the system
and appear OK but I could not ping it. Only when I removed
the other card did the new one appear. This is a bit of a
pain as I was trying to set up a network. What OS do I
need so that both cards can be used?

Thanks in advance.

All versions of Windows, including 98, can use multiple network cards.
There should be no need to remove the other card. Re-install it, go
to Device Manager and check for resource conflicts.

When both cards are working, follow the steps that I listed above to
make Windows 98 use one card or the other.
