Hello to all,
We have a Windows 2003 server in place. Two temps are about to start with
our company. The manager asked a colleague who has now left the company to
setup certain restrictions and permissions on the temps laptops when they
logon.
Such restrictions include hiding various programs, icons etc.
Our colleague setup a group in AD for these 2 users and set restrictions and
permissions on the administrative templates section of group policy. These
seem fine.
However, our manager requests that these 2 users have a remote desktop icon,
or access to terminal services and Microsoft office applications on their
laptops.
Both users are members of the remote desktop users, so these are set up
appropriately.
However, although Microsoft Office is installed on the laptops, it doesn't
show when each user logs on. Also, when I try to add a remote desktop icon to
each users desktop, by going through each users desktop profiles in documents
and settings, the Remote Desktop Icon doesn't show when they logon.
My manager doesn't really want the 'programs' option on the start menu
available.
I don't know where the security settings to allow access to Microsoft Office
and Remote Desktop are set in group policy, so that these 2 users have
availability to them.
Many thanks to all who can assist,
Jeff
