Hey, Guys!
I am also having a similar problem and getting the same
error message as your #3. I have a Win98 workstation that
will not permit the user to logon to our Win2003 domain.
As Administrator, I am able to log on just fine. Also,
this user has been able to connect in the past, although
looking at the existing configuration, I have no idea
why. He can also log in from our XP workstations with no
problem. I am beginning to suspect that it has something
to do with a cached Windows password, but the user has
given me several and none of them have worked. When I
look at the DC Security Log, I can see that the domain
name is missing from the network logon request record.
Since Win98 is using an LTLM authentication protocol, I
relaxed the LTLM restrictions, even though it was working
with only NTLMv2 before. Win98 will not let me use the
NetBIOS DOMAIN\user syntax. Is this any help?
