We have an 802.11a Wi-Fi network via a Netgear HE 102 Access Point.
Recently, a new Dell laptop was acquired that came equiped with a
built in TrueMobile a/b/g card. The only way we can get the TrueMobile
to connect to the network is to turn off "turbo mode". This takes our
speed from 108Mbs to 54Mbs. Does anyone know how to get the TrueMobile
to recognize Turbo mode? The TrueMobile won't even see the network
unless turbo mode is off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, it's a matter of the 802.11a standard that -a is max 54Mbps.
Here's a test: transfer a very large file over the existing network
without the Dell. Connect the Dell and repeat the file transfer, using
the same two computers/servers used in the first test.

Report back the transfer file size and times for the two tests. I
suspect that "turbo" is some marketing hype for some kind of one-way
short burst transmission, and has no bearing on reality.

"turbo" is only for stuff based on the Atheros chipset which is what's
in the HE102. Don't expect it to be compatible with anything else.
