Hello-
I have a Netgear MR814v2 wireless router that I've been using for
about 2 months. I have successfully connected with a Sony laptop
(with a netgear wireless pc card, Windows 98SE) and an HP laptop with
an SMC 802.11g wireless card (with XP Pro).
I just got a Dell M60 workstation laptop with a Dell Truemobile 1300
mini pc card. I successfully connected at my office to an SMC
Barricade wireless router. However, I cannot connect to my home
wireless network with the MR814 router. I have read posts from a few
months ago stating that this was a known issue, but some people were
able to make the combination work. Dell was supposed to have fixed
the problem in August (I assume with the 1300 driver).
I have the latest firmware on the router (v5.0 release 00), and the
latest driver for the Truemobile card (v.3.20.23.0, A08). I CAN see
the wireless network (it shows a good signal, says a wireless network
is available, and asks me if I want to connect). When I click to
connect, it just sits for a few seconds, and then again says there is
a wireless network available.
I have tried: resetting the router, turning off all WEP security, and
many other combination of settings.
Any ideas?
