Hi Folks,

Trying to install RedHat 8.0 on a Dell poweredge 750 server. THe
installer doesn't see the two Gigabit cards, and when I get the system
installed I can't manually set them up.

They are both listed in /proc/pci. Am I right to think that the kernel
doesn't support them ? maybe I should try the RH9 disks....

Cheers,

Craig

Yes, you need to compile the driver since is not a standard gigabit.
Get the driver from dell's website.

Thanks ! I got them from Intel - Dell are only carrying RPMS (doh!)
for enterprise Linux now ; not even anything for RH9. Anyway, Intel
have a very nice tarball which worked a breeze.

Thanks for the advice,

Craig

? so ? you can get the sources out of the rpms if you really want to.
rpm2tgz does it.
