Do these cards work in regular hardware or do they only work in Dell
servers?
How do they differ from KVM over IP switches?
Can you access the BIOS through these things?

Cheers

This article explains what they do. They are by no means a KVM
and would appear to only work with Dell servers.

What I meant is how they differ in functionality to a KVM over IP switch.
Not just a normal KVM. I still can't see how they differ, apart from a
massive difference in price. These DRAC cards are very cheap on eBay, which
led me to suspect that they only work on Dell servers, as they would be so
much sort after if not. I suppose I will start looking out for a second
hand Dell server now, or Dell server motherboard, as it will be a long time
till I can afford a new server with support for Windows 2003 Server headless
server support.

The major difference is the chip on SOME Dell server boards, which allows
the DRAC to interact at a low level with the server even if the server is
crashed.
