Just received a Dell Inspiron 1100 plus a 1150 series adapter card.
Does anyone know whether or not this card supports 802.11g. The
markings on the card say "11 Mbps Wireless LAN Adapter" which makes me
think that it is a 802.11b only card. However the data sheet on the
Dell web site says the 1150 supports both b and g which is why I
ordered the card. I don't have a setup to test things yet and can't
seem to find a person at Dell that can answer this question. The item
number is 430-8564. Thanks, Bob

Hmm. Truemobile 1150 is 802.11b only, as far I understand. May have
mentioned 802.11g in regards to 802.11g being backwards compatible with
802.11b.

They do have 802.11g cards so if you believe you were misled, I would argue
that they upgrade your card for free.

If it's the internal mini-PCI card, the internal antenna (specific to your
notebook) may only support 802.11b, not sure though.

Where is the data sheet you read?

It's only a "B" card. I don't believe they make any internal wireless-g
cards for the C series laptops.

Did you order this through some educational institution?
430-8564 seems to be a special number. 430-0284 is the normal number.
