Dell doesn't tell you if it is the 128 bit version nor do they indicate that
it has external antenna capability.
All I have read indicates that it is the Orinoco/Avaya/Lucent Gold card. Has
anyone experienced otherwise? TIA.

Do a Google search for "IMRWLPCE2411R".
You will find http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/network...ntr/en/reg.htm
which is FCC certification of the Dell Truemobile.
You will also see the other cards that are the same FCC ID.
You can't tell that it's gold, but I'm sure that I saw the 128 bit WEP
mentioned on the Dell site somewhere. I can't find it now, though.
I don't have the card. I have an Orinoco Silver.

Yes it's 128
Yes it has an external antenna connector
Yes you use a 'hexed' version of the Orinoco firmware and drivers to turn
it into an Orinoco Gold

I just bought a Dell Inspiron with a TrueMobile 1500PC wireless card.
I purchased a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless broadband router. Does anyone
know if these will be compatible? I am totally new to wireless stuff,
so sorry if this is a dumb question.

using a Truemobile with my Dell and it connect all over the country
with free wi-fi hotspots, and tmobile - so sure it will work with a
Linksys as long as you're able to configure your network properly.
