Deleted files return

Hello;

On the network here everyone has a roaming profile. This profile may be
loaded onto 2 separate computers. If the user were to log onto computer A,
and delete a file, when they log off, that change will be sent to the server.
If that user were to then log onto computer B, that file will be in the
local copy. When that user logs off, the file will be sent to the server.
The next time the user logs into computer A, that file which they deleted
will return.
The client computers are running windows SP SP2, and the server had Windows
2000 Server SP4.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Rob

You can change this behavior with Group Policy: Computer
Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/Logon

Delete cached copies of roaming profiles.

Read the explanation for this and the other available logon policies
carefully. You may want to use or avoid certain combinations.

There is nothing to "help". You simply aren't supposed to be logged on to
more than one machine at a time with roaming profiles. If you login to
multple machines, then you should not use roaming profiles. Roaming
profiles, in my opinion, are more trouble than they are worth.

What this stems from is we have a terminal server running Citrix setup so
that the users can log in remotly, and everything would look as close as
possible to their desktops. IE: any files they have saved, shortcuts, etc.
I would like to keep it this way if possible so that it would minimize
confusion for the users.

Ok, well Doug has some suggestions that you can do with Group Policy that
may help. I'm not familiar with it,..you'll have to check it out.
