I am just using my computer at home. How can I get rid of
the Network Logon, when 98 boots up? (and get rid of
the "Network Neighborhood" icon also)

Try this: Open up your Device Manager and delete any network adaptor
that appears there. Reboot.

I, too, have a stand alone (98 SE) not hooked up to any network that
keeps asking for Network log-on password. Found two network adaptors and
deleted them. Lost the network log on prompt but ALSO LOST INTERNET
CONNECTION. Had to get (ethernet driver ?) re-installed. OOPS.
