Our company upgraded our PDC to a windows 2003 server. Since we upgraded we
are experiancing delayed network access to shares on the PDC. The delay
will be up to 20 seconds then it opens the share. Once the share is open
the access to the server is snappy and quick.
The delay returns if the client computers (XP pro) don't access the share
for about 20 minutes.
The windows 2000 client machines don't seem to have this problem only the XP
pro client machines.
One interesting note I found was to disable the Webclient service on the
server. I want to see other ideas before I do this.
