Delay when attempting to open files located on the server

Occasionally we will restart our server on the weekend (windows 2003sp1).
Sometimes (but not always) users will complain that when they try to open
files on the server there is a delay between clicking and when the file
actually opens. The bigger the file, the longer the delay. Average Word
documents for example might have a 1-5 second delay and a large file (like a
service pack) may have a 30 second delay). It seems everything on the
server (remotely) is slower.

Restarting the server 1-2 times is the only way we know how to resolve this.

Server - Dell 2800 Win2k3 w/sp1 - Dual 2.8 ghz, 2 gig ram, raid 5 hard
drives 80% free.
Workstation - Dell Optiplex WinXP w/sp2, Pentium 1000 - 1800, 256 to 512
meg ram
HP Switches (server 1000mps full duplex, workstation 100mps full duplex)

Any Suggestions on how to solve this?
Thank you for your help

I figured it out. It was the Microsoft AntiSpyware Realtime Agent. Once
disabled all was well.
