Hello,

Does anyone know of a dedicated Windows server service on the Internet that
supports multicasting? And is multicasting the best, more efficient, and
most practical way to transmit data to large numbers of internet clients?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Steve

Yes, Windows Server 2003 does support multicasting. See the online Help
under RRAS or go here:

I would agree that multicasting is the best, more efficient, and most
practical way to transmit data to large numbers of internet clients. But
there are a number of hardware vendors (Cisco, Nortel, etc...) who will
claim that their equipment is the best. :-)

So you can do multicasting through Windows Server 2003 without any kind of
special internet connection? I am looking for a dedicated server that is
hosted by a third part company that I can subscribe to and use multicasting
through a .NET application. Any ideas?
