Hi Guys,
I've installed the slmodem-2.9.10 package to make my winmodem work
under my Debian SID.
The module compiles in the right way and is also installed correctly in
my own-compiled kernel, wich is the 2.6.11.
The module slamr loads at startup and is also seen by the 3 programs
i've tried : wvdial, kppp (which i would like to use) and gnome-ppp.
The first problem is that when any of these programs try to do a dialup
connection, i can't hear any sound so i had to wait and see what
happens on the video. But that's the less.
The real problem is that it can't do the connection. Look at the wvdial
output:

--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.54.0
--> Cannot get information for serial port.
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
ATZ
OK
--> Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
OK
--> Modem initialized.
--> Sending: ATDT0,XXXXXXXXXXXX
--> Waiting for carrier.
ATDT0,XXXXXXXXXXXX
CONNECT 50667
--> Carrier detected. Waiting for prompt.
User Access Verification

--> Sending: MYUSERNAME
--> Don't know what to do! Starting pppd and hoping for the best.
--> Starting pppd at Tue Jun 21 10:13:34 2005
--> pid of pppd: 4263
CSLIP: code copyright 1989 Regents of the University of California
PPP generic driver version 2.4.2
--> Using interface ppp0
Caught signal #2! Attempting to exit gracefully...
--> Terminating on signal 15
--> Disconnecting at Tue Jun 21 10:13:55 2005

I know for sure that username and password are correct, but it says
authentication failed...It's an issue concerning PAP/CHAPS or what else
? What should i do ?

Thank you so much.
