All,
For no reason today this WAP just quit working. No wireless devices could
"see" it, however, I could ping it and log into it from my hardwired
machine.

No firmware update was done to it, nothing. Just noticed that my TiVo didn't
have a connection.

I powered down the WAP, nothing. I reset the WAP, and now I cannot ping or
log into it anymore. All lights are lit, even the activity one, however,
there isn't any activity from me

Any pointers for reviving this ? I do have a laptop that is setup for
wireless if that would help (i.e. maybe connecting the WAP directly to it or
something ?).

Anyways, any help would be appreciated before I smash this thing.
Thanks.

good to go - still don't know what went wrong in the first place.
but i found this post:

Download the older firmware version and save it on a wireless computer.
- Reset your WAP.
- Change the TCP setting of the wireless computer like this:
IP=192.168.1.x, subnet: 255.255.255.0, router: empty
- Connect wireless to your WAP, the network is linksys, no password needed.
- Open your browser and connect to your WAP (192.168.1.245)
- Update your firmware to the older version
- Reset

and it worked perfect (except i didn't reflash the firmware), apparently the
wap just "lost"
all of my settings somehow. oh well.

Taking a moment's reflection, StinkFinger mused:

| but i found this post:

I have had this happen to me twice ... once just after flashing to a new
firmware, and once sometime later out of no where. However, in my case, the
IP of the WAP changed to 1.192.168.1 (note the sequence), and I could not
log in to the Admin page because of this.

I had to hook the WAP to a wired NIC, and reset it by doing the
following: Hold the reset button the whole time, wait 10 seconds, then
unplug power from WAP, wait another 10 seconds, plug power back in, wait 5
seconds and release reset button. This seems to have reset the IP to
192.168.1.245 per defaults.
