DDE and WIN2000

I am pulling my hair out trying to get a 98 (client)
machine to get data from a WIN2000 (server). I have read
extensively many of the articles on the KB. I am running
DDESHare on server. But just can't get the client to get
info.
any help is greatly appreciated.
